WordPress app ported to Android phones

The first-ever WordPress application designed for the Android smartphone platform has just been launched and is available to download from the Android Market right now.

Similarities between the iPhone version of WordPress and the Android iteration mean that you can update your blog whether you host it yourself or not.

Comment notifications are also available and are useful for those who like to keep their blogging community busy with new content and replies.

The official WordPress app for Android is not the first to emerge. Mobile blogging enthusiasts may already know that this new app is based on the foundations previously laid by wpToGo.

In fact, the developer of this app has been working with WordPress on the official version, resulting in his own work on the separate app coming to an end.
