Palm announced only recently that it would be bringing enhanced versions of its Pre and Pixi smartphones to Verizon customers in the US, suffixed with the 'Plus' tag to highlight the improvements and now it has released pricing information for the new mobiles.

According to an internal source at the carrier, the contract version of the Pre Plus will set back consumers a little under £89 after a rebate of just over £61.

Meanwhile the Pixi Plus is set to cost about £61 as part of a similar deal, again with a rebate subtracted from the price.

Although there has been no official confirmation that these prices are accurate, observers have noted that they are in line with those that rival network Sprint will be offering when it launches the Pixi Plus and the Pre Plus in direct competition with Verizon.

While these enhanced versions of the Pre and Pixi have not yet been officially confirmed for a UK release, most are expecting their arrival at some point this year and these latest prices give a rough indication as to just how much UK consumers will have to spend to get their hands on a webOS-based mobile phone.
