A special Christmas Edition of the LG BL40 New Chocolate has surfaced, with higher-end specifications and new look.

Launching initially in South Korea on December 10th, the new, limited-edition version upgrades the five megapixel snapper featured in the standard handset to an eight megapixel camera.

The touchscreen mobile phone also differs from its predecessor through an eye-catching black shell adorned with gold spirals.

LG has yet to confirm a UK release. However, the fact that is very unlikely that it would arrive Christmas suggests that the upgraded phone would probably be rebranded for other territories.

Features of the existing edition include an industry-leading four-inch display, a media player, five megapixel camera and 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset also offers HSDPA support for fast downloads.

The mobile phone giant’s media-optimised phone is currently being promoted via a high-profile tie-in with 20th Century Fox’s blockbuster Christmas movie Avatar.
