Mobile phone carrier 3 has announced a three-way partnership with Spotify and HTC which will see the live streaming music service bundled with the HTC Hero.

Under the terms of 3’s HTC Hero tariff, customers will pay £35 per month over 24 months and an upfront fee of £99.

This entitles them to unlimited access to Spotify Premium for the duration of the contract and 750 minutes of calls to other mobiles per month.

3’s deal, which will be available from November, also includes unlimited texts and calls to other 3 numbers, unlimited email, internet browsing and Facebook and free Skype to Skype calls.

Jon French, Executive Director UK & IE HTC Europe, commented: “The Android platform gives the consumer the option to tailor their Hero to their specific wants and needs.

“Whether it’s listening to the music they love or communicating with friends and family via a range of internet services, the Hero allows you the freedom to use your phone as you please.”

HTC’s Hero Android mobile phone, which is also available on the T-Mobile network under the name T-Mobile G2 Touch, has been one of the most successful launches of the year.

This was borne out recently when the handset was named Gadget of the Year by Stuff magazine and scooped Phone of the Year at T3’s 2009 awards.

You know this means that it's all over for Comes With Music. Before it even got going. If you could keep the songs with Spotify subscriptions, it'd be off the hook.
