About Vodafone
Vodafone is famed for offering the widest network coverage in the UK and thanks to its excellent array of handsets and range of flexible tariffs it has justifiably become one of the UK’s most popular mobile phone networks.
The company offers phones on 12 or 18 month contracts as well as pay as you go tariffs, making communication with your friends and nearest and dearests as easy as possible.
Thanks to its 33 partner networks, Vodafone's millions of satisfied customers enjoy fantastic connectivity and keenly priced call and text message rates all over the world.
- History
History
Vodafone was responsible for making the UK’s first mobile phone call on January 1st 1985, marking the launch of the mobile industry. Its analogue network was the first to launch in the UK.
Since then it has stayed at the vanguard of UK telecommunications developing next generation technology as was borne out when in 2001 Vodafone made the world’s first 3G roaming call between Spain and Japan.
The company has 33 partner networks and 186.8 million proportionate customers across the globe.

Tariffs
Vodafone operates both Pay Monthly and Pay As You Talk price plans.
The Pay Monthly plans feature a range of options for combinations of calls and minutes. The deals run over 12 and 18 month contracts.
Extras are available for 18 month contracts, whereby customers can benefit from cheaper evening and weekend calls, extra minutes, unlimited landline calls as well as unlimited mobile internet and webmail.
Vodafone’s Pay As You Talk plans are also highly rated by users. These are divided into two main tariffs: Anynet and Anytime.
Anynet offers daytime calls to any network at a flat rate as well as discounted evening calls.
Anytime offers the same rates as Anynet. However it differs in that customers can make calls at the discounted rate at any time of day once they have spent three minutes of calls at the standard daytime rate.
Pay As You Talk customers are also afforded the option of adding extras to their plans. These include the Vodafone Stop the Clock, whereby you can talk for up to an hour at evenings at weekends for the price of just three minutes. This applies irrespective to the network of the phone being called.
The Free Weekends extra, meanwhile, gives users a free calls and texts to any network at the weekend when they spend £5 or more of their top up during the week.
Finally, Pay As You Talk customers can also choose to add an extras pack. This entitles them to a number of texts or calls for a pre-determined fee.
