According to renowned cat fancier and poet TS Elliot, humans can’t bear too much reality. Alas, what he thought about augmented reality isn’t recorded. But having heard tell of a new app that promises to bring the tech to the iPhone 3G S we’re very much in the pro camp.

The app harnesses the GPS, compass and camera of the latest edition of Apple’s mobile phone to display a live view of the world, only overlaid with information. Think of how the Terminator views the world and you're halfway to picturing just how cool it is.

Developers Worksnug have designed their app so that users can locate venues that enable remote working around London, Tech Radar reports. The gen is based on 200 information gathering visits to the capital and provides everything from the quality of the wi-fi signal available to the number plug points.

The bad news? The app isn’t available yet. But the good news is that when it does arrive at the App Store it will be free to download.

Check back here for more information as and when we have it.
